The name “the SPARKLES” references the bubbles in the naturally carbonated water of Bad Nauheim’s thermal springs. Tiny bubbles at the beginning of a grand old story that saw Bad Nauheim develop into a picture-perfect spa town. The ensemble of the Sprudelhof is widely considered a veritable Art Nouveau icon. Meanwhile, the 127-year-old building at Rittershausstrasse 2 is itself a great example of the architecture of that era. After comprehensive modernization and restoration, the elegant townhouse once again boasts the turret roof above the eye-catching avant-corps on the corner, a feature that had for many years been lost.

The Sparkles meets all the conditions set down by the heritage office and yet still stands out, not least, for all the comforts associated with distinguished modern interiors. The apartments can, if so desired, be adapted for senior citizens. The two ground-floor apartments have wheelchair access, and the few steps from the building’s entrance to the mezzanine can likewise be avoided using the open elevator. The roof has a spacious integrated terrace that did not exist back in the 19th century, offering a view that is quite simply breathtaking. Thanks to their elevated position in the urban fabric, the flats in the SPARKLES look out over life in the Sprudelhof, the Kurpark, and the thermal springs. And onwards as far as the Johannisberg hill and the surrounding foothills of the Taunus mountains. A long, mild summer’s evening spent up here will always be one to remember.
Gentle waves and the small, effervescent bubbles of the carbonated water in Bad Nauheim’s thermal baths welcome you at the front door. The decorative motif is inspired by the Art Nouveau reliefs on the facades of the Sprudelhof’s two turret buildings; indeed, the entire interior of the entrance brings to mind the style of the grand era when the cream of high society gathered in Europe’s renowned spas. You’ll notice this with each step you take across the tasteful terrazzo floor with its geometrical pattern of natural stone that could just as easily be a 19th-century original.
From Rittershausstrasse, a paved driveway leads to an almost invisible garage for two cars that lowers hydraulically to basement level and blends harmoniously with the paving. Via Küchlerstrasse, a sloping driveway leads down to three double parking slots that can thus house up to six cars in total. A car turntable makes it easier to manoeuvre the vehicles. A trellis with climbing greenery is planned for one wall. |
Sunlight suffusing the entire house: The SPARKLES is a true stand-alone, meaning there are windows on all sides and thus facing in all directions. So much daylight throughout the flats ensures a bright, pleasant ambience, which is enhanced by the classical front gardens that set the building back from both Rittershausstrasse and Küchlerstrasse with their variety of bushes and shrubs. Paved driveways onto both streets lead to the parking spaces in the rear section of the plot. The roof over the large garage is greened, so from any of the apartments above you look down on an opulent sea of flowers. And of course, the beauty below changes its colours with the season.
All the flats stand out for the use of high-grade materials and are fitted out meticulously by a local general contractor. Exclusive sanitary equipment by renowned manufacturers awaits you in the bathrooms, where porcelain stoneware tiles over underfloor heating ensure good grip in the wet zones. All other rooms will probably feature parquet floors.
All the construction details and the complete fit-out specifications are to be found in the technical construction outline.
The apartment floors boast high-grade parquet or wooden floorboards, whereas the bathrooms feature elegant porcelain stoneware tiling. Oiled oak is used for the wooden floors to deliver a warm, pleasant touch and atmosphere, with the option of either a classic herringbone pattern or standard floorboards, giving you scope in the design tone you wish to set. |
The living area features wood-frame doors with infill panels and high-grade stainless-steel fittings. The largely floor-to-ceiling wooden-aluminium/aluminium windows come with triple-glazing, a tilt-or-turn function, and solar protection. |
High-grade mixers set a stylish note on the washstands, in the shower, and on the tub (the latter has an elegant flush-mounted Thermostat mixer) and perfect the room’s aesthetics. The high-end bathroom ceramics are ideal for all generations, with appealing clear geometric lines and consistent shapes for an inspiring feel-good bathroom. |
Timeless elegance, clear shapes, and easy use: Carefully chosen switches and sockets courtesy of the Jung brand or comparable manufacturers marry functionality with aesthetic appeal. |
